Peter Gabriel and U2's The Edge launch Amnesty International's Small Places Tour
Amnesty International marks the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with the ‘Small Places Tour’. Inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt’s call for ‘concerted citizen action’ in her famous “small places” speech in 1958, musicians and fans will raise their voices in song and action in venues, cities, towns, communities, neighborhoods and workplaces.
Through hundreds of concerts held around the world, we will draw attention to urgent human rights concerns, recruit thousands of new human rights activists and, hopefully, raise much needed funds for Amnesty campaigns.
Amnesty International's Small Places Tour
The Small Places Tour is Amnesty International's most ambitious global music and human rights project since the Human Rights Now! Tour in 1988, and features over 700 concerts around the globe between September 10th and December 10th (Human Rights Day).
R.E.M. and the Small Places Tour
R.E.M. has joined with Art for Amnesty and Amnesty International to promote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and help the Small Places Tour bring awareness and hope to all corners of the world.

From our perspective in Art for Amnesty we - Erin, Jessica and Erin's wonderful and hard working team of volunteers - are honoured to have had the privilege to work with you on the project and to share in your success.

Dear Friends
The 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is just two months away. It is, of course, an opportunity for conversations about the values that unite us across the planet. But it can be more. It can also be a time when we as individuals reclaim the intent of the Universal Declaration and make a personal commitment to make human rights matter in our own communities.

Luxembourg - "more than RNB"
It was with the support of the National Youth Service and the Differdange Youth Centre that two young Luxembourg fans of R&B launched their slightly crazy project of making a 100% R&B compilation. Because R&B is indeed alive and well in Luxembourg and the artists performing it today want to spread the word.
